What is a Service Upgrade (Heavy-Up):
A service upgrade is when
more power is made available to your home. Your electrical
service panel will be upgraded to a larger panel usually 200
amps. Your new panel will have a main breaker for safety.
We will replace your outside service entrance cable this is the
wire that brings the power into your home. Your grounding
system will be upgraded to meet code this includes driving a
grounding rod 8 foot into the ground and running a wire to your
main water pipe. All circuits will be clearly marked so you
know what each breaker controls.
After our work is done you
will be contacted by our office about setting up a time for a
county inspector to approve our work. It will need to be a
day when someone can be home as the inspector will need to see the
panel. Once inspected the power company will be contacted to
hook up the new wires on the outside of your home and remove the
old wires. This is done at no cost to you.
